Within this saturation, the overwhelmed subject exhausts in search of an honest framework: the hunt for the ethical collapses into the methodological; character coerced into method. The curious fools, soothing their conscience, digging toward the treasured ideal: some secret maps buried within the pharmakon of archive. Here we draw up the battle plan for freedom, an ontological plan indeed: being becomes tactics becomes being once more—an anxious relation between what is endured and what can no longer be tolerated. Yet still we desire strategy—we truth-seekers caught between the will to know and the impossibility of knowing. Within that bind, we succumb again and again to the fool’s errand—the endless attempt to reconcile morality with survival.
